DPDP Compliance

Welcome to Coffee Lounge: Sip & Savor. This page explains how we comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP), India’s landmark data protection law. Although we do not collect personal data through registrations or databases, we are committed to transparency and your rights under this law.

Scope and Applicability

The DPDP applies to the processing of digital personal data within India. While Coffee Lounge: Sip & Savor is an informational blog with no user registration system or stored personal data, we may collect limited, non-identifiable information through standard website analytics and cookies. This page outlines how we handle such data in compliance with the DPDP.

Your Rights Under DPDP

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you have the following rights:

  • Right to access information about how your digital personal data is processed
  • Right to correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Right to erasure of your data, where applicable
  • Right to grievance redressal if you believe your rights have been violated

Note: Since we do not collect data that can identify you personally (such as name, email, or phone number), most of these rights do not apply in practice. However, we honor all legitimate requests made in good faith.

How We Comply

We comply with the DPDP by:

  • Not collecting or storing any personal data through forms, accounts, or databases
  • Using only anonymized analytics tools that do not track individuals
  • Providing clear notice about data collection through our Privacy Policy
  • Responding to all data subject requests within legally mandated timeframes

Data We Process

The only data we process automatically includes:

  • IP addresses (anonymized)
  • Browser type and device information
  • Pages visited and time spent on site
  • Cookies for functional purposes (e.g., language preference)

This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you as an individual. We do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or any other personal identifiers.

Legal Basis for Processing

Under the DPDP, our processing is based on legitimate interest — specifically, to improve website functionality, understand audience interests, and ensure a seamless reading experience. No consent is required for this type of non-identifying, non-sensitive data under Section 4(2) of the DPDP.

How to Exercise Your Rights

If you believe you have a valid request under the DPDP, please contact us at:

Email: [email protected]

Include your request clearly (e.g., “I wish to access my data” or “I request deletion of my data”), and we will respond within 30 days.

Response Timeframes

We are legally required to respond to data subject requests under the DPDP within 30 days. We aim to respond much sooner — typically within 10 business days.

No Discrimination Policy

We do not and will not deny services, charge different prices, or provide a lower quality of experience to anyone who exercises their rights under the DPDP.

Updates and Changes

We will update this page if our data practices change or if new DPDP guidelines are issued. Any material changes will be posted here with a revised effective date.
